i just put my new intake kit on, but it requires me move my airfilter restriction guage to the new intake.. but i have no idea how to move it. how do you take it off of the stock box???
If you are talking about the filter minder, just pull it out of the rubber groument. Drill a hole in the new box and put the rubber in then push the filter minder in.
EDIT: I would do what Russ said. I don't have one on my 6637, I can tell if it needs changing.
Mine worked once... After I reset it.... It never worked again... Disconnect the wire clip off and Zip tie that POS to the master brake cylinder !! Thats what I would do !
Well.... I've changed my air filter 10 times before that frickin thing even starts to think about moving... never mind tripping the idiot light on the dash... !!! I'm sure if you plugged off all air to it... it might try to trip..... but who lets there air filter get that dirty ??????

I guess I do for one.
I can make my filtermider pull down to the first tic mark with a WOT run on a brand new filter. Maybe my engine uses more air than yours?
All that thing does is measure the vacuum that is pulled through the filter. With the stock filter box, you could pull enough vacuum to trip it. With the 6637, I don't see how you could trip it.

I can understand not installing it on the 6637, since the stock position is eliminated you don't know whether it's properly calibrated if you just stick it in somewhere.
But that doesn't mean it doesn't work if it's properly installed.

Are you going to trust it? Something as simple as looking at your air filter, you're going to occasionally open your hood, look at that stupid gauge and say "I must be all set for another 10,000 miles because this spectacular little gauge has not done anything". I have a filter very similiar to the 6637 on my Cat 3208, except for the fact that it is about 4 times larger. I have owned this motor home since new, 21 years. It has a filter minder just like what Ford uses, and you know what? It has not moved one iota in 21 years. That is longer that a whole lot of members here have even been alive.
