I hve access to a C6 for little or nothing out of a mid 80's van. What I want to know is if I can remove the tailshaft housing and output shaft to put it in a 4x4. I have a C6 in a Bronco that I would trust about as far as I could throw it. I want to go get this tranny, take it to a shop for rebuild and shift kit install, then put it in the bronco. I don't think the current tranny will hold up very long with a new 408W stroker motor. Thanks.
The output shaft and extension housing must be changed. The output shaft is the last thing to come out of the case. That makes it an overhaul since it would be foolish to go that far without replacing at least seals and gaskets.
