Removing oil pan

Have 91 Ford F-150 2wd. Trying to remove oil pan to check out lower end of engine and am struggling. I unbolted the exhaust, rmoved all bolts from oil pan, removed bolts on trans bracket and motor mounts. Placed a block under the front harmonic balancer and raised the engine. Heres the problem even with a second jack raising the transmission some I cannot raise the engine enough to get the pan out. I read in a number of posts that removing the intake was not needed yet I can not get the pan out can anyone provide words of wisdom on this issue?

Thanks

Phil

removing oil pan

Hi, i have had luck reaching in and unbolting the oil pump first, let it sit in the pan and you should be all set.

To replace the gasket, removing the intake is not needed.
To remove the pan, I've had to remove the upper intake on two different motors.
