Im having a problem with my 96 E350 van.
I had some questions in another thread about setting a CEL and losing power.
I checked it out yesterday and didnt find anything obviously wrong.
It reset the CEL itself and seems to be running ok.
But Im a little leery about driving it.
Im thinking if I can put a scanner on it and monitor it while driving I can see what the code is if it happens again.
Id also like to monitor the transmission Ive noticed some funny shifting at 40mph over the past year.
Anyone know a good scanner for this?
I dont really need one with a programmer since I allready have a chip from Beans.
Thanks
John

Reason: bad format
You dont know of any stand alone scanner that would work?
Looks like the Autoenginuity is about $250 on their website.
Was really hoping for a stand alone instead of a laptop.
Ive got an older Autotap progam I need to find out if that will work if I have to do the laptop.
The Scangauge 2 can read/clear dtcs as well as monitor various other info about the vehicle. You can display trans temp, converter in/out ratio, line pressure and others. It isn't really an in depth diognostic tool but it might help. I have one on my truck.
