CEL with no codes

CEL with no codes

Does anyone know why I would be getting CEL but a scanner shows no codes. I had a problem with the sensor that tells the HPOP to send pressure to the injectors. I repaired the wires and now I have a CEL, but the scanner shows nothing. I tried to use the scanner to reset codes, but it didn't make the CEL go away.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What kinda scanner are you using? Many won't read our trucks......

Not sure of the brand. I think it was one of the orange ones from advance auto. My wifes uncle works for them and he is the one that had it. So, I assume that's where it came from.

What kind should I be using? Thanks in advance.

Those wont work with out trucks you will have to get a scanner that is capable of reading our codes on the diesels. I have an auto enguinity scanner. Pricy but worth it!!
