auto enginuity scan tool
my 02 constantly throws soft codes, or ghost codes that a lot of scanners will not pick up. i will be driving down the road with a scanner hooked up to it and the CEL will come on, but the scanner will show no codes, active, or pending. but the CEL is still on.
i hit clear codes, and the CEL goes out.
plus, no matter how i drive, it will get no better than 13.7 mpg, and that is being figured with the speedo reading 3 mph high.
other than the poor mileage and 2-3 CEL's per day, the truck runs great.
will the auto enginuity scan tool with enhanced ford upgrade show these codes, and help me figure out what is going on with the truck so i can raise the mpg??
and is it worth the $400??.

Tom, I think you will have a better chance with the AE with the ford bundle to see the soft codes. I got a good price from Clay (Riffraff) for mine. I plan on doing some test to my '01 PSD and my '97 Ranger this afternoon. I don't know anything about the scanners you are using now.

worth every penny.. the very first time i used mine it paid for its self.. i forget what it was but i had a bad sensor.. would have cost far more then 400 to have a dealer look at it..they want 100 just for hooking up... AE will do anything a dealer can..even change the spedo for tire size.. yes you need the Ford bundle in order to read all the sensors on a diesel...
