I will be honest... I don't know why more peeps in the 4x4 world don't run blowers.
Given that weight (especially over the front end) is so critical... and everyone and his deaf-mute aunt runs a big block
I would throw in a 1800hp 2.6l twin turbo'd rotary and be done with it
(i.e. just gear it right... and a quad rotor will make 1800hp at about 9k)
I thought that torque got you going, and hp keep you moving?
didn't think about regearing for the rpm, I know you can get torque from the gears but enough?
but the bad thing about the rotaries is there a pita to rebuild when the seals start leaking from what I've read. You got to have almost a clean room type shop.
Torque comes from an engines stroke and compression. Gears dont give you more engine torque. It just multiplies what you have. Im not sure of the exact formula but there is one to figure out your total torque that is transfered to the tires.

right, but I still don't know if you could get enough multiplication to make the rotary effective, you'd have to go really deep.
Hey Truckin4life, before changing your front springs check the bushings that mount your ttb's to the crossmember. When they get a little slop in them it will make the front wheels look as if they are going to pop out from under the truck when you back up. When moving foward again, the wheels will straighten up. Might be worth checking.
OK, I just wanted you guys to check out my awesome new rock crawling rig that I picked up. Just check out that articulation! Also, the Cooper Discoverer A/Ts completely blow the doors off of any BFG A/T! Man can they dig!
Seriously though, when the D44 TTB comes out of the F150, the next project will be to put it in this thing, hopefully get close to 20 inches of travel, and put a 8.8 or something to match the front width.
I found it for cheap, 117K on it, thing looks practically brand new.
I will need an F150 8.8 to match the front width. I will probably just upgrade the rear axle on the F150 at the same time, so I will have a matching set of axles (if you can call the TTB an axle ) just lying there.
But alas, it will be sitting till january when I get back from Iraq. (my leave ends today)
Also, I hope everyone knows that the flex shot was a joke... The pic was taken especially with your minions in mind Kris.
