I find diesel does ALOT more for saving a motor then oil does.

But the prob is water if water gets in there you're f***** unless you remove the head and remove the oil. don't mater how much oil/diesel or whatever you put in there water ALWAYS stays at the bottom by the piston where it matters.

Air Cleaner but yes hood helps too, I find alot of exposed carbs......including Moris's 1947 Ford flathead 2 ton urgh.

No need to, I know better than to do that but that Flattie was shot. Guess it`s alot worse now though.....
