You know you wanna!! The guys also got an old Fargo grain dump for cheap.
Maybe I'll post a pic in the gallery. I am just getting a little nervous posting non ford truck pics in my gallery!!! Note to Mods- will delete if so instructed.
i asume these are at pauls shame he is going to crush them but mabe the goverment is making him clean up because of the evroment laws now. the goverment are getting tough on stuff like that.must be lots of old oil gas and antefreez spilt in there.land value must be a good dollar there now to been that close to winkler.
Actually the White and the Fargo are at a separate location in Osterwick.
I am assuming that guys like Paul's are operating under a Grandfather clause seeing as his dad started this business in the fifties.
I know he is unable to expand, therefore must crush to make room for new inventory.
I think they are fairly prudent about liquids these days and they do mow as much as possible to reduce fire hazard. I know I spent a summer push mowing those five acres almost two decades ago. It can get frustrating!!
One problem with draining fluids before going in the yard. The engines and other parts then seize up and are no use.
I drained antifreeze from an engine and it sat for one winter and was tighter than a sealed drum. Could not break free.
Sadly you still need the oil for the crankcase bearings and rod bearings. Without that it will seize there also.
By the way the wrecker pictures were great. Too bad they are slated for the crusher. There was a lot of good useful parts still on those trucks. Straight grills and nice full instrumentation dash gauges. TSCH TSCH!!

I can't see how no antifreeze causing a motor to seize. But then I've been wrong before.
No oil in crankcase would help bearings but still no way to lub top end of motor which likes to seize.
It would be nice to have a wrecker keep this in checked as far as oil keeping lubed etc. But then they do that have their employees take care of them aftewr pulling from the vehichle.
Then some Ahole who is to cheap to do a decent build on their motor comes and offers 300 for a used motor then wants a warranty etc. Not too phesable (spelling?) in this day probably.
why can't they leave the oil, pour a spoonfull down the plug hole every year to keep them free. if they aren't busted when they come in the yard they could be worth something...
That would be alot of work. Would almost pay to start them up once in awhile, if you wanted to pour oil down each plug hole.
My uncle always told me to throw a little diesel in your engine ya have sitting for awhile and it unsiezes nicely. Hes done it a million times successfully.
I tried that with the one that seized over one winter. No go. It was a rebuilt 460. So maybe the rings and such are tight in the first place. I gave Morris the motor for being such a generous fella and all.
