So today i got some shorty headers put on the 93 Flowtech is the brand all i can say is awesome...
Im so impressed couldn't be happier I could tell the difference in power its louder to the headers completed with the flowmaster 40s on there its really even more deep throaty and more agressive than before really growls now probably the best mod i have done so far next to the duals
Only thing might be a pain is the header bolts might loosen cause the heat of the gasket so just have to check em and tighten oh well i guess hopefully they dont loosen but they arent that hard to get at
That's great Dustin, a video/pic's would be great!!! I'm curious to know how much they ran you too, I would like to put headers on the '79 and go with 3" dual exhaust.
Im also curious Dustin, why did you got with shorties over long tubes?
My one buddy from nipawin has a 92 f250 and has shorties on it and he doesnt like them. He bought some long tubes instead and he is selling the old ones to me for dirt cheap too.
Well i get pics and videos soon they arent th nicest looking the headers are not chrome but still look cool i got the manifolds prep still if you want em ill sell em for sure they are in very good shape not that old i went shorties cause of the price and it bolts up to the system i had if i went long tubes it would be more expensive and i would have to do a x pipe or h so i didnt want to do that but
Im happy with shortys i went to competiton muffler cost me about 800 3 hour job headers are about 300-375 each long tubes might have been better i dont know but im happy ill get some videos when summer comes closer or i get time ill get pics asap
shorties are race bred, while long tubes are more suited to truck torque performance... i'll be getting heddman long tubes for my '83... either ebay or local...about 275.00. heddman makes them for the '79 460 too marlon, roughly the same price.
Heddman have been around a long time and should be a good brand. Never go cheap on headers, they`re a pain to change when they burn out so go for a decently thick guage.
just wondering dustin, as you're letting her breath better on the bottom end, are you doing anything to the intake to get some more air in there?? might be time to get an intake kit. you'll really notice a difference...
I think I will probably go with a set of heddman long tube for the 460, but we will have to see how things go this summer. We are planning on finishing our yard this summer, so that will take up some time on funds.
