Here is my problem i have a 65 f100 4x4 i have coverted to disk brakes. I used a 79 bronco front axel, porportioning valve, master cylinder, and calipers with the stock 65 boster. Every thing is new except for the boster. My brakes will not stay pumped up. There are no leaks but they keep bleading off. they will pump up butt will not stay. I have bled them countless times. tried another new master cylinder. nothing is working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like the vacuum is bleeding off the booster? Try this, With the engine off push down on brake pedal and keep it down. Then start engine. You should feel it when the vac boost kicks in.
HENRY .509 I would check the rear if your pedal is going down something in the hydralics has to be the cause never seen a boster cause a problem like what your seeing. you could plug of the line to the rear at the master and that will tell you if it front or rear causing the problem.if you see no visible leaks then my guess is something is bypassing porportioning valve or master cylinder seen more than 1 new part be bad.
maybe but i wouldnt think it would pump up in that case. could jack up front wheel have someone pump it up and hold it if wheel is locked and tnen fades it will be a leak or bypass problem.
CMF80, could you send me some info on your conversion. I also have a 65 4x4 and I'm not sure about the conversion. I was thinking of changing the front end to coil with radius arms but then again I'm not to sure on what parts to get or just change out the axle and leave the leaf springs???
