I want to replace the '65 grille with a new '66. I already have the aluminum bezels, and I want to buy a new aluminum grille also. I believe Dennis Carpenter has them for $550-ish, which is a little steep. Does anybody know where these can be had for cheaper?
It's been a while since I posted, but I am nearing the completion of the rebuild. '64 short bed 4x4 with '70 429 (d0ve heads), changed from C6 to np435, np 205, seven inches total lift....I can't wait. Pics soon.
The ONLY source for '66 grilles (and it's the only grille being made) is DC, though it may be sold through other outlets. DC owns the tooling to make these. They are very difficult pieces to stamp out, plus aluminum isn't cheap, hence the high price. It's either DC or good used.
Check with Caroline classic & NPD as well, As dave mention I beleive tooling rights are control, but seen these other folks sell them as well, Also Truck Shop out of Orange Ca sell's them for $449 prior to s/h fees.
They also sell the coke bottle type hubcaps as well.
Next years Christmas present to self.. LOL
All resell what DC makes. Dennis is the producer. They may not be available as i had heard there are tooling issues with the aluminum used and unavailability of the correct alloy.
Give DC a call and see.

I was put on a list almost 2 years ago for a 1966 aluminum grille. What Garbz says is accurate. Rick from CC. Says unknown when any production of this grille will resume. Steel ones can be found but the aluminum ones are getting very hard to find. They occasionally show up on ebay But then again your getting a used one. I've got my eye on a 66 aluminum grille on a Non-op truck, The owner may sell it to me or have me arrested for harasment ha ha. But I want the grille. Hopefully persistance pays off. I've got a steel one that needs a little work may have it fixed then chromed for resale. I do have a chrome one on my 64 now that I had done a couple of years ago. Not for sale.
Ebay is our friend. I just picked up a '66 aluminum grille, appears to be in great shape (judging by the pics, I'd say 8/10), for $51.00 (plus $48 shipping). For $100 to my door, I'm thrilled.
