Edge Evo Times

04scw 5.4 True Flow Intake And Edge.
She's Like A New Truck, Seems Like There's Somethin Under The Pedal Now. 8.68 0-60, 16.0 1/4. Ran It With #2 Tune, Just Filled It Up Didn't Know It Was Coming Today. Customer Service Was Great As Well. Had Issue With Code 171, 174, 581, Part Of Which I Think Was From The New Intake....lean. Called Edge And They Had Me Going In A Matter Of Mins. Programming Was Also Painless, Took About 15 Min. For Updates, after That, No Codes. Feel Like A Kid In A Candy Store!!! Mrb Exhaust Coming With Some Bf Ko's And 5100 Shocks. Just My 2 Cents, Bad ***!!!

Love my edge too. Installed it last week. Running at Level 2 and it's like driving a different truck. Stomp it and she goes! The Edge completed my base mods of a Volat CAI, cat back Magnaflow dual exhaust and the Edge. Mileage went from 14.2 mpg to 16.4. Plus with the intake and exhaust she's got a nice growl. The Edge EVO really wakes up an otherwise sluggish 5.4L 3V.

Still have code issues, it's from the intake, 171,174,581. I think I need a custom tune, anyone know someone who does that.

Hey, when you're running at Level II, which is the economy mode, does it still give the truck more power when romped on? Just curious.

She'll burn rubber from a standing start and would not do that prior to the Edge. While cruising either in town or highway, when you stomp it, she jumps and runs. Much improved throttle response and she pulls my 6x10 enclosed trailer like it wasn't there. I've not measured power in terms of rear end torque or horses, but my truck has certainly come alive since installing the Edge. The Volant CAI gave it a great sound when stomped, but no real performance boost. The Edge is a kick in the rear!

And that's on the Level II? If it is, is the time between fillups (the true test of mileage...lol) the same, or better?

Thanks in advance.

Noticed big jump in perforance on level 2, waiting to try level 3, getting about 15.5 mpg, the edge guys say the best milage is achieved on level 3, weird.... supposed to be highpo mode, but, as soon as I get some 93 in the tank, I'll post some milage. All in all, you get worse milage, more tempted to get in it, we she's got nuts.

Right after installing the Edge I made a roundtrip to Houston from Shreveport, LA and the Edge says Avg MPG was 16.4. That was a mostly highway trip running 70-80. Best I had seen prior to the Edge was 14.2. However, my in town mileage has been as low as 12.4 but part of that was pulling the balloon trailer so to my mind the jury is still out on whether I'll see any improvement. I have a trip to Kentucky coming up so maybe that will tell the tale.

Of course, with the increased performance and my mid-life crisis comes a tendency to put my foot in it more than I should, so any hope of increased mileage may be a joke.

I saw another post where someone said they set it to Level 3 - Performance and the truck turned on so much it scared him. I may have to try that, if I can afford the 91 octane Level 3 requires (LOL).

Installed the Edge on an otherwise stock F150HD. In level 2, 0-60 averages to 8.07 with a lot of wheelspin. No special tweaking to optimize anything via the custom tune. Mileage stayed the same over a controlled 60 mile loop. Can't find my note of stock 0-60, so I'll retest later.

Actually level 2 is the towing mode not econo mode.Level 2 wakes the truck up quite a bit compared to stock.

So the towing mode helps the mileage though? (Level II) Is the econo mode easy to access, or is it more along the lines of a custom tune? I'm getting more and more interested in the Edge now, and I'm off tomorrow...I smell trouble...

That's what edge people told me. Haven't tried eco mode and probably never will. Once you feel the power difference even on 2 you will never go back to stock. Movin up to 3 this week sometime, can't wait.
