Problem getting people to FTE.

Being a Feed and Farm supply owner, I see and talk to many people with PSDs. You know a man likes to talk trucks. We start talking about our trucks and most can't believe how much I know about them. (To them). I start telling them about FTE and all the knowledge on here about our trucks. Give them the address, and some I show on my puter (because I have FTE on all day.) But for the life of me, I don't know why I don't see them on here or tell me they have joined. When they come back in, I ask them if they like the site, and allways get, I have not looked yet.

Are we different?

I don't get it either. I've got a buddy thats the same way. He asked me the other day how he could get more power out of his stock 00 F250 PSD and I gave him this link and www.7point3.com but I haven't seen him pop up here. He lets me figure out the best way to spend the $ then just listens to my advice (he's a putz like that).

Some folks like to do their own research while others want to be spoon fed. Heck, we're practically spoon fed here after all the other guys have figured this stuff out... The coolest thing about this forum (specifically the 99-03 7.3 FTE forum) is that the folks are super friendly, always willing to help out or answer questions, and know their $#!t. I love the idea that you can come on here, see all the different ways of mod'ing your truck, and find your own way.

I have two referrals to FTE that actually signed up. Both are 6.0 guys, one inf Ft. Worth and one from Conroe. Been trying to get my Dad to sign up but he always just calls and has me post his question. He's a 6.0 guy too.

I for one am glad that I found this place. Fun people with like interests and not a whole lot of drama like some other boards. I moderate a discussion forum for a musician friend of mine (Cory Morrow) and it's an almost never ending drama train.

I have gone to the AZ Chapter and asked if there is anyone in my town that logons on to FTE or belongs to the AZ chapter. I didn't get a single response.
Of course that might be because they have read a couple of my posts.

Yep were different, and damn proud of it!

I also have a friend who would rather take it to the dealer than to learn about his truck. Ask him ANY question about a 200EFI Mercury outboard down to the surface tension and adhesion of the paint, and he can tell you the answer, but he is retarded when it comes to his truck.

case in point, his is an 01 SC 2wd super duty (7.3 of course) and for the past three years he has been driving without the drivers battery cover(the part that feeds air into the airbox), and two broken tabs on the airbox. I just took him a slightly used 6637 (2000 miles) and an intake pipe and offered to install it FOR FREE, he looked at me and said "nah thats o.k., I wont be able to find a replacement at the dealer. Thanks anyway" . I tried to explain to him the need for filtration in a turbo diesel engine, and his repose was; "but look at the extra airflow I get" DOH!!! was my response, and I left with my 6637. Some people just dont have the sense to take care of a $10,000 motor.
Sometimes I walk up to his truck, and pat it on the hood, and tell it "I'm sorry, I tried"

Most people around here just lift their truck, and put a Superchip tuner in it. I was in that group for years (superchip is going away SOON) So I can relate to it....I stumbled upon FTE looking for who knows what, and I saw right away I knew NOTHING about my truck. I've come a long way from back then. I guess if somebody came to me telling me about some Mustang forum I would care less.....I have a 96 Mustang that is my commuter, I could care less about modding it, or learning more about it either Everybody has their reasons.....but when they are always asking about my truck....I don't get it when they won't come see for themselves what an awesome place this is!

what would be great if FTE could set up a show or a meeting place somewhere in the country. Do a west coast show, mid west, east coast show so we can all get together and meet and swap and bu~~sh#$. Maybe have some truck pulls, best of shows. ok , is it possible.

That comment is funny, but the fact that your bud neglects his truck so bad is not. Have you ever tried kicking him in the nuts?

sniff...sniff.... That brought a tear to my eye...

I can't believe how bad some folks treat their trucks. You'd think they were married to it or something.

Get your butt in the truck and drive to Gatlinburg TN for April 10-12, Smokin' in the Smokies. No, FTE is not the main sponsor, but there will be a bunch of us there. there are a few truckloads of folks from Maryland coming down, get in the convoy and bring beer.

Another thing is, most people with 7.3 have no clue what they have. They don't know about the problems with the 6.0 or for that matter the 6.4. I ask all 7.3 owners if they had the CPS changed with the recall. None know what I am talking about, when they ask me to show them where it is and open their hood. WOW everything under the hood is the same color, dirt and junk color. I then open my hood to show them and another WOW, how do you keep it that clean? Then MAN WHAT IS THAT? 6637. lol
