Just wanted to let you know that we've had a change in travel plans, and won't be stopping by Millbrook for a visit and going on to Smokin this year after all. I saw that a twister hit near (or at?) the K&K RV Park where we'd planned on staying. We might stop by for a visit next year (or soon) as that's one region we still haven't explored. Say hello to all the gang for me. Did Jeremy make his move to GA? If not, I might be passing through Columbia on my way to St Louis later in April.

I've been busy learning about my new (used) truck, working on it, and occasionally cussing it, and also shopping for a new larger 5er to go with the MDT. After traveling around the SW checking out several deals on 2007 models, we decided to order a new 40' triple axle HitchHiker which is scheduled for production in Chanute, KS the week of Smokin. We plan on watching it come down the line, then taking delivery at the nearest dealer which is about 60 miles away in Columbus, KS.

I had to take a written and driving test towing my current trailer to get the TX class A driver's license that's required for towing a GCW in excess of 26K. The new fiver has a GVWR of 19K which will put my GCW at about 32K. The test involved backing down a side street, but fortunately, I find it much easier to back with the MDT than with a pickup.

By now most of the places to stay are booked tight, so unless you want to rough it, bringing the trailer would be a good idea. Or, $4 a gallon fuel would make me want to rough it.

My own brother saw my truck, decided he wanted a 7.3, and bought an 03. You think I can get him on here? Hell no. He has me take his credit card and order up basically all the stuff I had put in mine, and then says "You can put it in for me" "If there is a problem, you can find out for me" etc.

Thanks bro. It was fun spending someone else's money for a change though. Good thing he helps me build my patio, convert my carport into a garage, and other stuff.

but yeah, I enjoy getting on here and admire the community on here. Saved me lots of frustrations and money for sure. Heck, it was you folks in the 7.3 forum that convinced me to get a 7.3 just by how damn friendly and knowledgable everyone is.

Go pre-turbo. I went with the 40 in case I want to upgrade to more boost in the future. I like where the sweep is on the pointer with the 40, but it really isn't necessary.

Well that's just great Gene. Now how am I supposed to drink all your beer if you are not going to be there?

Good to hear from you again though. Glad all is well.

Not sure how you measure boost "pre-turbo"...

But yeah, 35-40 is probably best. That way if you get an upgraded turbo, you won't need another gauge.
