I really wonder if this is a split vs singles thing!!!
Seems that most trucks with this issue are 97.

good question, i have only dealt with one 97 cali truck at the dealer, i think the problem is edge, not the trucks though. i have never had this happen on any other chips except edge. it would be interesting to find out what his truck is though.....
so is this problem on a cali truck?

depending on the dealer's capabilities you might be able to do just the pcm, call them first.

most dealers can only hook up via the data port. with the whole truck in front of them they can get the info needed and transmit it into your truck by entering the pcm line codes manually. it takes longer then a typical reflash but it can be done and as long as the board isnt fried then it will take the code with no problems. you just need a tech that knows how to really use the WDS in order to get it done properly, otherwise trying to do a typical reprogram on the truck wont work, it will just throw an error code on the scanner

I have a edge. Set on low. Only used the higher settings once because i dont have gauges yet. Never had a problem. What I would like to know is can this happen at any time or is this something that will show up the first time you use it?

Thanks

California emissions truck can be all over the country. Check to see if you have a cali truck but looking in the valley of the engine toward the back just before nearly under the turbo is the fuel pump.
These pics are from the back with the turbo removed but if you have the round disc on top its a cali truck if not disc its a 49 state truck
Cali truck

Federal truck

hey scatgo, if you have a new DP and an air intake and don't have bigger injectors or anything like that don't worry about gauges just yet.. I have a EGT and boost gauge and with my edge all the way up it's never got over 25PSI or 950*
and thats stopin on it pretty hard. now if you where pulling a trailer or somthing like that I would turn it back down if you didn't have gauges..

Did you unplug the programmer with the key on?...

If so ,,, I'd bet you need a PCM...
