glow plug button

Ok on my truck Ive noticed and used a test light and my GP's come on with the push button switch, but also come on with the key. Should I take out the push button since it still works with the key or keep it where the push is a backup incase i need it.

Also why does my Gp light come on sometimes when its running? like a few times after it is just started?

The control module turns the glowplugs on several times after the engine is started to reduce smoke when the engine is cold. Apparently the module went out at one time, and someone put a manual button on it, and then later someone fixed the system. It's up to you whether you leave the button on there or not, apparently you do not need it.
