04 fx4 transfer case

I just bought a 3/4tn 4 door 4x4 v10 fx4 and read that they might have upgraded the transfer case. just wondering if it was and how. Thanks.

Look at the t-case. IF it is cast aluminum, then I wouldn't call it an upgrade.
Possibly just replaced it with a stock case.

Are you asking if the Fx4 package has an upgrade transfer case? If so, no.. its the same as the regular trucks. FX4 isn't much more than a pretty sticker on the side of the truck.

Thats what I figured, pretty dont mean to much to me just wondering about the toughness of the truck I appreciate the info.

FX4 just gives you skid plates and cheap ford shocks with rancho stickers, and a bed sticker. The transfer case in super duty is plenty strong, probably one of the strongest chain driven ever made. The are great transfer case, some would consider them bullet proof.
