is there a good 5.8 performance roller cam for my 1996 f250 351w? i have 4.10 gears and 35 toyo mt. true dual exhaust with flowmaster 40s. i want more power and a lumpier idle. thanks
i have a mass air truck. its mostly a daily driver that i tow with. i just want a little more power and a better sounding idle. it already has true duel exhaust other than that the motor is stock. i plan to put on roller rockers.
go to the comp cam web site and download camquest. enter your engine info and it will give you hp and torque for different cam setups. its free and kind of fun
You can bump the base timing up a few degrees, and that'll help and it's a free mod too.
Shorty headers will yield a slighty louder exhaust note with minor performance improvements. Most of these bolt-on pieces do not require any other exhaust modifications; just install it and go. Long tube headers will make a little more power, over shorties, and a louder exhaust note. However, some exhaust modifications are required to the mid-pipe section to accommodate LT's . You may also need to lengthen the O2 sensor harness as well....I had to do that with mine anyway.
