when was the 5.8 roller cam motor put into pickups and broncos?

This is from Conaski.
1994 and up motors with the F4TE block casting number, you will also find this motor in '97 HD trucks(8500lb+ GVWR) as the old truck was carried over another year until the new SuperDuty was introduced.

Where can one find the block casting number? Underneath beside the oil pan? Up on the intake manifold? I'm curious as I have a '94 with the 5.8 L
