Is there a way to figure out what the code is for the door locks on my truck especially if it's not the factory code???????? I don't even know where i would start.
Also, i'm not familiar with the set up but can you lock the doors while the truck is running if i need to run into a store???? If so, how do you do it. Sorry if this is a stupid question!!!!!
Thanks for your help guys, i'll try and figure it out this weekend. I'm going to do my best to avoid going to a dealer to have them tell me the code. I appreciate your help, this site is great!
I bought my truck used (not from a dealer) and did not receive the code to my truck. I asked the dealer what they would charge and they said $100 or $125. I decided I didn't need it right away and did without the code. Finally, while I was due for my 30K service, I took the truck to the dealer and had them complete the service and requested the code.
He said we charge $125 for the computer code. I said fine, but I thought maybe you would also give me the code without charge, since I was having the other work completed here. (I didn't say, but could thought, I could have gone to a couple of other dealers nearby.) I also had a warranty repair item on the ABS sensor they repaired. They did the service on the truck.
When I picked the truck up, he said I didn't charge you for the computer code, warranty paid for the ABS so all you were charged for was the service--which was $475. That's pretty standard pricing here for service.
I reset the code when I got home to something I would remember and then immediately tried the original computer code--it reset the code to the original computer code and my "remembered code no longer worked". So, then I reprogrammed the "my new personal code".
The door keypad code is printed on the security module that is against the firewall just below the stereo, you do have to dig back there pretty far to find it though because it it behind the insulation.
I have an 06 F250 and I found the code on a small black module straight below the radio where the tranny tunnel meets the firewall. It is concealed by whte sound insulation. Gotta get your fingers in there and root around and move the insulation around to see it. A real pain in the **** to get to. The code was on a white sticker on top of the module. It took me 5 tries to find the darn thing. Do a search of the threads in the Superduty forum...someone posted pics of where to locate the module; (this is what I used to find it). My dealer wanted 50 bucks to find the code. Additionally, you can lock/unlock the doors with the code while it is running.
Hope this helps. NOTE: My truck did not have the small glove box under the trailer brake controller; hence, that is why it was so difficult for me to find the module. Had to take the dash off to be able to see where it was.
Thank you so much, that link to the other thread w/ the pics is unbelievable! Thanks for taking the time and posting that for me, i'm gonna guess you just saved me from some frustration and quite a few F bombs being dropped looking for the code!!!! Thanks again for your help

My dealer looked it up on their computer for free..........
