No it hasn't happened yet(although with the way my luck is going, I'm expecting it any time now), but I'm just wondering has anybody been taking note about roughly how many miles before these things seem to head on out? Yes I know that it depends on quite a few variables, some that may apply to me, some that won't. However, the last auto tranny I had took a dump at 96k and I did not haul or upgrade nearly like I have done with this one and it wasn't a torqshift so I can't really use my past experiance with this one. Just wondering how long before I need to start speed dialing Matt to use one of his cores on a rebuild.
Tex,
Your right, really too many variables to say there's a certain mileage that they start to go nutty. The good thing is the TS usually gives you lots of warning and will not just totally crap-out and leave you stranded. It will start slipping here and there (especially reverse) and gradually get worse. Eventually it will only run in a few of the gears and get very quirky but it will still keep going...plenty of time (might need it as busy as he is these days ) for a fix to be worked up.

I hope so, the last tranny I had didn't really give me much warning. One day worked fine and the next I barely made it out of an intersection before getting hit by oncoming traffic(I didn't have the protected left turn arrow, but I thought I had more time, but barely did).
