does anyone know how to retreive the code for the key pad on the door?i bought the truck from a dealer (non ford dealer) and i would like to get the factory code or reprogram it. if anyone knows or could post a link i would appreciate it thanks for your help
It would help to know the model and year. On some, it's apparently on a module next to or near the parking brake. On most (that I've read about here), it's on a module underneath the center console in the rear of the radio area. Apparently on some later models there is no sticker at all.
In any case, apparently you can take it to the dealer and they can read it off the computer for you. But that might incur a charge.
On my 04, I had to take out the radio and look through the hole. The module was up on the firewall behind some insulation. It's hard to see even with the radio out, but it is there and you should see a white sticker with lagre black numbers (5 digits).
I've heard that on the later models they quit putting the sticker on. If there is a sticker, that's where it should be though. The only way to know is to get back there and look.
I have a 2006 f250 and the module for the keyless entry was behind the radio against the firewall you have to move some white sound insulation out of the way to read the tag on it ,there is alot of numbers on the tag but the 5 code numbers are the biggest one on it. Some say you can see it by looking from under the dash in that direction from the drivers side, but you stiil have to try move the insulation out of the way.
Just in case you didn't know, There should be a plastic card in the manual package with the number on it. You have probably checked but just in case it will save you some work
Thanks to all who have replied to my question. Today I took the radio out to find the ducting and a support pipe in the way. The guts of this 350 dash are very tight and hard to manuever around. I'll keep trying!
You'll spend far more time screwing around trying to get the dash apart than you would going to any Ford dealer, giving them the VIN and having them look it up. I went to the "Quik Lube" office at my local dealer and had the door code in under a minute.
I have an 06 F250. The dealer wanted 50 bucks to hook the computer up and give me the code....screw that. After reading several past threads and about 5 attempts to locate it, I finally located it. Had to take the dash off see it. It was below the radio and above the tranny tunnel where it meets the firewall. It was a black module that was concealed behind some white insulation. The white sticker affixed to the top of the module displays the 5 digit number. Once again, it was extremely difficult for me to find...think I pulled a muscle doing it! I wouldnt have found it if I didnt see the thread where someone actually took pics of where they located it.
