Well, after months of considering options, I've decided to go to a manual.
My AOD has slipped a couple of times in second gear - I've tweaked up the line pressure slightly & it seems OK for now, but it's days are obviously numbered (166,800 miles)
I've been given a good NP435 free, so I'll convert the truck to take that for now, & look out for a close-ratio T19 to fit at a later date.
I'd have been happy with a C6, but a manual is my first choice ( a bit better economy & control, & a bit less power loss) - & the price is right
The back end should hold out fine for me - I'm not hard on it!
If it ever lets go, I'll toss a D70 or a Sterling under there, & it'll be bullet-proof from front to rear
