I can just see the news story now..

GRAND LAKE, LOUISIANA - Authorities said Friday that a local madman, tiring of the consistent theft of his Powerstroke Diesel, decided to strap 2 pounds of C-4 to what has been described as a blow up doll to exact revenge on the would-be thieves.

"It was awful," said local Sheriff Mr. McGee. "All we found was a plastic blow up doll mouth and a bunch of blood and guts."

That's the diagram I was looking at, but when I go out and look at the lid on my underhood fuse panel the numbers are different- Relay 1, Relay 2, 3, 4, 5... Relay 32 in the manual is Relay 4 in the underhood fuse block.

Do you have your owners manual handy Sara? You won't have an IDM relay, but maybe you have one for the starting circuit, fuel pump, or PCM. The simple way to test this would be to look for an important sounding relay in the manual. When you find a candidate, pull the relay out and try to start the truck. If it doesn't start with the relay removed you've found the right one.

You could also make a few swithces combine as a combo, one up, one down, one up. If you turn them the correct way when you install them, then you could put them in a place where they could be seen and not worry. Just a though, although as I write I think of where to put more than one switch. Anyway just a idea.

While I was thinking about how I wanted to install my theft deterrent, I came up with something clever. In addition to adding a switch to the injector relay, why not make it a DPDT switch that when in “deterrent mode” not only do the injectors not fire, but the horn blows while cranking the motor!! Wire the ignition switch 12v to the horn relay via the second pole on the switch, now that would get the thief running for the hills at 3am!

Good luck stealing that truck!

The idea of having to pull off the fuse dash panel and then the fuse box cover to remove Relay 303 (Injector Drive Module Relay) is a little inconvienent to say the least. Especially, if your like me and want to disable your truck everytime you shut it off. Here is an idea that I just tested, its simple, its cheap, its reversable, and it works.
This Mod reqires removing Relay 303 and relocating it just outside of the fuse box and installing a toggle switch for interupting the relays ground connection to the fuse box.
You will need:
-5 male crimp-on blade connectors
-7 insulated female crimp-on blade connectors
-1 toggle switch (choose your style)
-At least 8 feet of 18 guage wire, or more depending on where you plan on mounting your toggle switch.
-1 small zip tie

-Cut 4 pieces of wire 12 inches long, crimp a male blade connector and a female blade connector on each end of the 4 wires.
-Locate the numbers on the relay near the blades, connect the 4 wires to the 30,87,87a,85 terminals.
-Attach the other ends of the 4 wires to the corresponding blade recepticals in the fuse box, where relay 303 was originally.
-Locate your secret toggle switch location, cut a wire long enough to reach from the toggle switch to the relay, crimp a female blade connector on each end of the wire.
-Attach one end of the wire to the toggle switch and the other end to terminal 86 on the relay.
-Cut another piece of wire long enough to go from the fuse box to the toggle switch, crimp a male blade connector on one end of the wire and a female connector on the other end.
-Attach one end to the toggle switch and the other end to the remaining open blade receptical that blade 86 would plug into on the fuse panel.
-Carefully route the five wires toward the right of the fuse box and reinstall the fuse box cover, the fuse box cover may need to be notched to ensure the wires are not pinched when latched.
-Zip tie the relay to a desired location.
-Test
The first pic is a small version that I made to test with, you should get the idea though. The second pic is of a 2002 fuse panel indicating the location of Relay 303. I made this detailed so anyone could attempt this Mod no matter what their electrical skills may be. Hopefully this helps you guys! Good Luck!

can we get those photos added again? Thanks

Unlikely, the dude hasn't been active since 2016. Sounds simple enough to not need pictures. Are you a spammer/spam bot trying to sneak in? This looks like a post they'd make.

You're right, Josh, Chris (Rampage) has not been here in a long time. However, Marv (SpringerPop) checks in periodically and may get wind of this with a reply, since he was one of the original contributors to the concepts outlined by Rampage to begin with.

I'm going to add a switch to the starter solenoid wire b/c it sounds easier and is what i am looking for. I'd ask how, but i'll check it out.... Ie which wire? lol.

Starter can be bypassed with a piece of metal

breaking the CPS ground or IPR power would be easy to wire in a switch inline
