You could do the same thing with your famous #30 fuel bowl heater (&PCM) fuse located under the dash.
Do you have a link to the online manual? My truck doesn't have one unfortunately I don't remember seeing a #30 relay, I'll have to look again.

Enter your year, make, and model and you can download the entire manual in pdf form. https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp

So after looking at the manual online, it looks like on the 99 the IDM is controlled only by a fuse, not a relay so this may not work on 99 model trucks

No, you have one. Look again in the owners manual. It's relay # 32 for the IDM. Post #44 has a link to a photo of the one in Springerpop's truck.

I missed it the first time too.

I don't know if its legal for you guys that have vehicle inspections, but turn the hazard light button into your activation switch. Its out in the open, easy to get to and is naturally unsuspecable as an anti-theft switch. I don't know about you but I have never used my hazard switch. Just a couple of ideas.
For switch location, my buddy put two switches in the circuit that both had to be operated for the truck to start. This makes it harder for the thief as he has to find two hidden switches rather than just one and will hopefully give up after he finds the first switch but still can't start the truck. Just another idea to throw into the mix.

FYI, his setup interrupts the power to the clutch pedal sensor (on the 6 spd, the clutch pedal has to be pressed for the truck to start)

I use this:

http://www.alphalock.com/

In addition to an alarm system and a steering wheel lock. I'm not so much worried about someone jumping in my truck and getting it started as I am backing up a tow truck and taking off. I know most hackers don't use tow trucks but the tire lock goes on in like 5 seconds and its a big visable deterrent.

Okay, I looked at my underhood fuse panel again tonight. My panel looks like the one on SpringerPop's truck, but there is NO #32 relay, it was a single digit number (4 maybe). I suppose I could just pull the relay and see what happens. The numbering the manual vs. the lid of the fuse box is different, it's worth a shot.

I think your looking at the diagram for the under dash fuses. Attached is the diagram for the under hood fuse block.

What makes you guys so sure the addition of the blowup doll won't persuade someone to steal the truck even more?

The thief gets a ride and an easy date.

In my new motorcycle mag that I got a few days ago, they have a new system that is for bikes that replace your starter relay. If the key fobbie is not with in range, the bike will not start. Could work on our trucks the same way. I will find out more about it and post the info here. That could be a very easy way to protect our trucks... For not a whole lot of money...

Doc.
