hey guys i have a boost gauge in my truck and i had a local shop install it and what they did was run a tee off the rubber hose coming from my waste gate i was just curious how everyone else has theres hooked up and maybe see if there is a better way!!!
when I installed an ATS intercooler I drilled and tapped a 1/8n.p.t. hole in the air intake adapter that connects the air tubing to the manifold. by checking at turbo and the adapter, I found that there was 2lb. loss thru the intercooler. Reset the wastegate for 2 lb. more boost, and connected gauge to the adapter. John
I teed mine off the waste gate line for eas of install and because my truck doesn't have an intercooler. mostly sor eas you could drill and tap the intake hat but dont know if there would be a real advantage.
I all ways thought they had some thing goofy at the plant where the forklifts would drive across the conveyer belt the down pipes were on. Probly be changeing mine soon as I find sone of that litle red line for the waste gate just not the biggest fan of the four hose clamps holding the tee in.
