works fine on the 4r100's. the accumulator body is the same as the e4od. (except the early models in 94.5 but we wont go into that). either way the hoel goes in the same 3 places, works the exact same
Ok, It sounds like coon doesn't like the older trans. I have a 93 e-350 7.3L with some trans issues. What should I do when I rebuild this to make it a better towing rig.
wildstang, i tow with mine all the time with no problems. empty i can bark 2nd and 3rd with the 35 inch tires. the shifts get firmer with the more throttle you give. its firm but not a jerking shift.
bad351w, it works on all e4od's and 4r100's the same way.
jnkdad, i have nothign against the tranny's. for the most part you can swap a 4r100 accumulaotr body with an e4od accumulator body, the earlier e4od's had some differences in them so i dont think it would work the same but i have not tried. other then that i have put 4r100 accumulaotrs in e4od's on several occasions with no issue

That is the best description of how it feels I've seen yet and makes me more want to do this,
Thanks!!
My 02 has a lazy shift int drive, almost unnoticeable, I added a DP chip, it made it worse in the 80e and 120 tune, feels like a 3k stahl in a drag car, should this firm it up and make it shift better, tranny has 135k on it.

Yes, this will firm up your shifts.
If your DP chip made it worse I would get in touch with them and maybe have it re-burned. It should make it better.
if your tranny shifts worse with a tuner then odds are it is slipping some. the shift kit may buy some time but it wont be a "fix" for your truck.
if you go out and buy a "vb" for your truck you are not actaully getting a valve body, you are getting an accumulator body that has different springs in it. change the springs or drill the holes, 250 bucks or free? i chose free, they both accomplish the same thing.
you can buy the shift kits which typicly come with different springs for the accumulaotr, and a new valve for in the pump. most are around 100 bucks
