My 2003 6.0 starts very rough when cold. It's been zero to 32 degrees F here. I run synthetic oil. It misfires for a few minutes then runs smoothly as it warms up. Just began testing glow plug system. If there is power feeding the glow plugs at the connector then I will check the ohms on the plug itself. Is there any other way to easily check glow plugs? If they seem ok could it be an injector problem?
Now I ckecked the + voltage output from the Glow Plug Control Module. 7 out of 8 terminals had voltage. One on the pass side was dead. Would that be a bad GPCM?
If it's cold and the truck isn't plugged in I "cycle" the glow plugs three times. The new flash from the dealer helps, but kills your power/throttle response.
it could be some hung up spool valves. You should be plugging it in when that cold. How many miles on the truck? Do you have the inductive heating ficm flash?
75,000 miles on the truck. It seems one of the glow plugs is not getting power from the GPCM. I priced them out at $190 and up for a new one. Anyone ever had to replace the Glow Plug Control Module?
