I have "rack time" at the underground exhaust shack Saturday morning with coffee. I can smell the gasses now...acetyline, mmm. I ordered a set of new brackets and we will be doing a custom install where the front end of my truck will leave the body before the TTB brackets fail again. I may need to drag my feet to stop if the PSD just ups and leaves the frame. Call me Fred Flintstone... and I swear, the bad design, near-death, experiences are over.

I am looking at the 4" superlift and super runner steering kit. I think it might be my medium term goal. Link: http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/fd4_f2_350.htm
both listed at the top of this page.

Opinions?

Yeah for that kind of money ditch the D50 and get a D60 and parts!! I would drop the front back to stock until you could gather the parts. Why spend the money on a marginal axle and lift when you could get a straight axle that will NEVER have axle pivot bracket problems.

Very good Tim. I have decided to weld up the cracked bracket that's on there and start collecting parts. Anybody got a 4.11 D60 hub to hub ready to go? JK...I will call my junkyard contacs and see what's out there. Is there a D50 to D60 write up anyone has handy? I have seen it but didn't bookmark it.

good luck on the d60 swap, you are better off buying a brand new set-up from an online company. last one i found the guy wanted 1500 bucks for it and it was a mess.

i dont like the superlift kits. they use the cheap cheesy drop brackets, they are no better then the one you have now, click on the image of their 6 inch lift kit on that main page, its a 2 piece design, garbage, prone to flexing and cracking as yours already did.

trust me, go with the skyjacker systems. check out their pages and pictures, you will be impressed

not me...lol. but i really like my independent front suspension. i feel that it rides better then the solid axles and tows just as good. as long as it is kept in alignment there are no tire concerns at all. if handles much nicer offroad than solids and i feel that it is an all around winner. the biggest drawback for the longest time was the unavailability of aftermarket performance parts. but now many companies manufacture posi's and lockers for the dana 50.
