360 Distributor swap

I've got a 79 F350 dump truck that someone swapped in a 73 360. No idea what the original motor was but the truck was originally a ya'll haul.
I need to know if anyone knows what OEM distributor will fit in this motor so I can reconnect the electronic ignition. Who ever swapped it used the points distributor and I'd like to eliminate that. Not interested in MSD or anything after market.
The truck still has all the connectors for the EI just got to put a box back in, a coil and find a distributor.
I don't imagine one from a 302 would be long enough? Got a couple of them laying around. The motor is being re-work right now so I can't check it for fit.
Here's another question, the EI boxes, are they all pretty much the same? I know I have swapped them from V-8 (302) to V-6 (3.x) and vice versa without any problem, so I would think as long as the plugs are the same they will work on the 360 as well??

You just need a Duraspark distributor for an FE engine. I have several and you can find on eBay and probably the local supply shop. As for the boxes I have heard several times that the Ford boxes are better than aftermarket ones and that the best one is with the blue plug/insert on the box.

If you decide to get a new distributor, consider our custom curved Duraspark Distributor built with our new Full Length Oil Impregnated Bronze Bushing. The full length bushing improves timing stability and spark scatter. If stock appearance is not an issue, take a look at our one piece D.U.I. Distributor. Whether you choose the Duraspark or the D.U.I., we curve each on a distributor machine based on your engine combination. Please see them at:

Also, there is now an excellent installation article on the D.U.I. Distributor on the Ford-Trucks.com site at:
