Hi guys,
My first post I asked too many questions to get answered. Learned, one thing at a time. Multi-tasking is un-e-fish-ount.
Seriously, My '77 f-100 has a C-6, air, with 302 valve covers. I was told it was a 351W. Where on the motor would I find the numbers to tell which one I have.
I was told it had to be a 351 with PS/air and a C-6. But as you'all know, In custom, it don't have to be anything.
Measure the distance between the heads(the width of the intake manifold.) A 302 will be about 6" across, the 351 about 8" I cant remember the exact figure, but that is a start. Also, look on the back of the engine, directly above the top two belhousing bolts. A 351 will have a rib above each bolt (on the block) where the 302 will have nothing but intake manifold. The casting number for the block can be found on the passenger side by the starter, you will have to lay on your back and look up to see it. The starter might be in the way.
