1979 F350 4x4 351m engine, calibration AKE. There is a small solenoid (?) on p/s valve cover with a small vacuum line coming from it that goes to where? The output hose on the smog pump goes to where? And the PCV line goes to air cleaner as usual? The carb has a solenoid onit (decel ?) where should the power feed come from? Lots of questions, but I'd like to get it past smog the first time (fingers crossed!!). Thanks....
It doesn't have a readable label on the engine. It has one on the hood side that is pretty beat up. I'll try deciphering it again. But the manual or the pics don't show external or internal EGR and what vehicle gets what. There was mention of a pipe going between the heads at the rear but the Ford engine manual doesn't seem to cover it, unless I missed it.
Is this F350 a CA vehicle? If so, then it'd be correct.
However, if it really was a '79 F350, and it's not a CA vehicle, it should have '78 emissions which was only the EGR and the fuel vapor system if it had dual tanks from factory.
It's a 1979 California F350 w/AT. It had the dual tanks with dual evap canisters. It has a smog pump and the canister above it (vacuum?). Everything attached to the intake manifold was missing. Also it has headers with glass packs. The emissions label says Non-Catalyst truck.
Now that is the pic I was looking for. If the crossover tube isn't present on this engine then I gather the connections would be on the exhaust manifolds, am I right? I'm guessing you can't add the crossover tube to an engine if it doesn't come equipped. BTW if ou know anyone who needs the stock side and rear tanks they can have the ones I took out of the truck. Hate to throw them away if someone can use them.
Nice pic. Definitely shows the vacuum routing nicely and the placement of the bits and pieces. Do you have a pic showing where the outlet tube from the air pump, about 1" diam?
