timing question

timing question

Is it possable to be 180 out on dizzy when just replacing a timing chain???

No. It is impossable.As long as the 2 dots line up on the crank sproket and the cam sproket facing each other,you are fine. I have seen people put it in wrong and mistake a mark on the cam sproket for a timming mark.

Sorry I just read your post again......Yes, you can be out on the timming with the distributor. As long as the chain is installed properly.But if you did not remove the dizzy when you replaced the chain then I can't see that it would fall out of timming.I tink I am really tired right now.

Turned out to just be flooded from b4 the chain change clearing up as it runs thanks

If the dist. is timed correctly to the cam, you can't end up 180 degrees off - just a few teeth, if the marks arent lined up. glad you got it runnin
