Hey all you lucky people that get to be out doing something other than working. Make sure you look up in the sky tonight for the lunar eclipse.
It is suppose to be around 7:00 pm, out here in Nevada and California. I'll be checking it out from work... YUCK. Oh well, hopefully it wont be cloudy.
It's suppose to be a relatively rare event.
well looks like my night is shot, weather is supposed to suck here......which really blows because even with a small cheapo telescop you'd be able to see saturns rings tonight.
The planet Saturn and the bright star Regulus will form a broad triangle with the moon's ruddy disk.
well ive missed the last couple of eclipses and shuttle launches due to bad weather. what else is new
its happened three times in the last year already, far from rare. takes place at 10:43 est. some about 7:43 out in nevada.
it will appear to glow copper after the eclipse. eclipse expected to last 45 minutes or so
According to the news last night, the extent of the eclipse is what is fairly rare, not the event itself. Supposedly it wont happen again until 2010.
But hey, what do I know, I didn't even know that we already had two this year...
Just thought I would pass on for all to enjoy. At least for those who give a hoot, or can actually see it.
They say it might clear out tonight for just a little bit, in my neck of the woods. Got my fingures crossed.
Big time clearing here right now. Mostly blue sky. Hopefully it'll stay this way through the night.
Wish I had my camera here at work. I could have posted pics...
