i have a 110 horse lawnmower but its not quite what he was getting at, i would like to see my 10 horse montgomery wards at the 70 horse level. there is a guy down the street that took his.....crap cant think of the name, but its a mid 70's red garden tractor thats built pretty tough. anyway he blew the 15-20 horse motor and swapped it for a 4 cylinder gas motor frm a car. its a sick beast. it still has a deck on it and when he engages the blades it sounds liek a turbine fired up. i will try to get some pictures of it next time i am down there
I don't think the frame needs any work but you will need a very good set of traction bars front and rear, tires and probably wheels (larger for low profile tires) that can handle the speed, Driveshaft hoops would be a good idea so that when a u-joint lets loose you don't take out lots of other stuff. There is probably a bunch of other stuff as well.
Thanks TJ I was planning on traction bars and wheels and tires already. That's definitely a good call with the driveshaft hoops though. As for trannys would you guys go with an ATS or BTS. I hear both are great so is it just a matter of preference or is there something more to it?
From everything I hear BTS is top notch. I have heard of very few people using ATS. So I have no feedback on them. I have heard some great customer service reports on BTS
Well BTS it is then I think diesel innovations uses the ATS in their race trucks but other than that I haven't heard of anyone else that uses them. Great customer service is definitely a major factor for me when I buy a tranny and I have heard some great reports on BTS too so that's definitely the way I am headed. Thanks
