This is why I drilled mine to the middle ground size. I don't want to be snatching my boat down the road. I figure Jody can up the pressure for my higher HP settings and leave it alone for the tow setting and stock setting. Besides, I have a diode in there, tick tick tick.
OK, I'm coming into this a little late and trying to understand it all, so, I take it this is not purchasing a VB and installing? This is modifying the stock VB? Is there a link to the kit?
And what is the .427-.5 thingy? Something that comes in the kit?
Ford Lincoln Mercury Reprogramming Kits
Here is link to the Transgo website. The Tugger kit is the first one listed. This is for those with trans out and doing the converter mods also. If you want to do the valve body mods only, you would need the second one listed. There are installation videos for each one. The kits come with a spring for the line pressure modulator valve, but you can get a new valve, with a larger piston, that will not need this spring. The modulator valve allows the computer to regulate the trans line pressure thru this valve. The larger the piston the firmer the shift. I opted to change the modulator valve because of prior experience with it in the sonnax valve and triccumulator mods. This kit just takes this shift mod to a higher level of shift control.

"This is for those with trans out and doing the converter mods also." Meant to say "pump mods" in my post (#35). Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
Hey all,
Sorry to dig up an oldie, but I just got a Transgo HD2. I know I have to do the calibration plate and the accumulator VB mods, but I still don't fully understand the line pressure modulator valve. Does my kit come with what I need to go to .500, or do I need to get something else? Is it really worth it, or should I just install what I have with the kit?
Thanks
