My second favorite would probably be the 1969-70 fastback.
I'd have to say I like those the best also. But something also draws me the the Cobra IIs, I don't know what, but a nice looking car. I wish I owned either one of those, but I'll settle for my 77 F250. And maybe I can build my wife a Mustang that I can drive. I'd have to say though, there aren't too many Mustangs that are ugly, but I don't find this one too appealing.

Yes, it sure does, at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.

Do you know the reason why Ford built this car?

It was built after the original Mustang was styled.

Lee Iacocca (the father of the Mustang) wanted to show some design elements to the press, but there weren't any. The Mustang (it wasn't called that till later) was styled in a competition among FoMoCo divisions, and the L/M divisions version won out.

The only real change made in the design was the L/M version featured a Cougar in the grille center emblem. L/M called their version a Cougar.

So Iacocca had this "dream car" version built to show to the press.

The Mustang was an immediate hit with the public, and Iacocca wanted it to win a design award, so he convinced Tiffany & Co. of New York to award it one.

The award was a sham, though the public never knew that.

Tiffany had never before awarded an automobile anything, and never did again.
