I have a 02' PSD 4x4 limited X and noticed the climate controls turn the blower on high as soon as the truck is started cold. Most vehicals I've had had a sensor for engine temp I guess which kept everthing off till the cooling system was warm enough to do any good. Is this operation the way it was designed (boo!) or is this a problem that can be fixed if a person has a large wad of money?
I just had the same problem fixed on my '06 SD F250. Climate control developed a mind of its own and wanted to blast you out of the truck.
When I got my repair invoice it indicated the "CONTROL" was replaced and showed a part number. Being curious I looked the part number up and the price was $30.something. Seems to be a cheap fix but I don't know where the part is located in the dash. There was no picture for that part number either. I can't even tell you what it looks like.
I don't have the invoice with me but will take a look and post the part number for you. Don't know what years its used in but probably the same for all climate controls, hopefully.
