Does anyone have any info on the possiblities of doing daytime running lights on an 08. Have brought this up to my dealer and the best he can give me are dumb looks. But at least he does it well. He did offer the high tech help of telling me to just turn on your headlights. Told him it would still like to be able to read the radio and heater lights during the day which you usually can't with you lights on. He didn't change his looks then either. Just thought some of you guys might have had this done somehow. Thanks
You could run the headlights and just turn your dimmer switch all the way up to help with seeing the radio. I would check around for wiring diagrams and see what's the difference. it may just be a separate module that you can purchase. When I get home I'll look at my EVTM from 04 and see if it tells me anything.
You may want to do a search on DRL modules... a few users just say its a plug and play add-on. The only problem may come in having a parts dept. willing to look that up. Maybe giving DirectFordparts.com (FTE Sponsor) a call.
I to would like to have DRL on my 2008 F150. This one has no auto light. You want headlights you turn the switch. There are some aftermarket kit that they say will work. Can someone tell me where the DSL module would be located on this 2008. I want to see how much trouble it is to set one of these up before I buy.
My Sport-Trac had the DRL's, and it was a pain in the butt since when you enter a military installation, you have to go to parking lights. Surprised people want them actually. Mine come on automatically when it gets dark, so I'm happy. Sometimes there's a fine line between dusk and dark and the cops like to stop you if your headlights aren't on.
If you look at all the idiots driving around in the rain, fog, or snow without the lights on...they should be mandatory...
Since it's the law to have them on at dusk, when the windshield wipers are going, or when it's foggy why not fill the city coffers by writing them a ticket. All of my vehicles have auto-lamps. They come on in the fog, or when it is "too dark" for the sensor. I will turn them on if it's snowing hard (if they aren't already on) and if I need my wipers. Agreed that there are a lot of idiots in this world.
