air bag deactivation switch

My 99 ranger has one and often wondered what the procedure was to use it. When i played with it you stuck the key in and turned it and then it springs back. I read the owners manual but it is not very clear. So what is the procedure for turning off the passenger air bag? Do you have to have it running and turn the switch with a second key? Or do you do it before starting the motor? Does it reset every time the switch is turned off? Or am i totally off?? I want to know how to use it if i ever want to or need to..

LAter!! chris

Check your Owners Manual, it has the exact information you are looking for.

Insert your key partially in the switch and turn to the off position. It will work if you do it properly - simple, even a caveman can do it.
