Advice on tach/E-350 add on/ 7.3 PSD

Converted my E-350 ClubWagon to 4x4 last year...This year it is a 7.3 PSD from a donor vehicle but E series clusters have no tach..
I want to add a tach...somewhere....
I have no idea how a factory tach is driven.
Has anybody gone this route before...

Diesels don't have coils so they run off of dwell from the CPS most likely. There is a Tach in the computer, but your going to have to figure out what pin the PCM you can tap for it.
