How loud is this turbo compared to a stock?

Compared to a stock with an ATS housing?

I am tossing around getting one since it looks like my stocker is heading downhill.

It is louder. Much louder. Of course it is winter time and everything is louder on these trucks. I had previously done the foil delete as well so that is not helping.

Is it too loud? I don't know. I think I have gotten used to it and kinda like it now. Reminds me it is earning the money I spent on it. Kinda like the big rigs you hear on the interstate when they spool theirs. No doubt that baby is making boost.

So go for it. If not, I hear the Turbonetics unit is not quite as loud, for whatever reason. One of these times I am going to do the map comparison on those 2 units.

I would say it is just about as loud as a WW/ATS combo, however louder than just the WW on a stock housing, and much louder than a ATS/stock wheel combo.

No, you'll get alot of surging aswell. Kinda like a twoforone deal with the 38r.

Just not much of a deal.

Mine doesn't surge.

But yes it's loud. Someone else rode in my truck recently and commented that it's just as loud as the WW/ATS housing, but at a higher pitch. People who own Powerstrokes that ride in my truck usually comment on the turbo first.
