Anyone use variable rate front springs?

I just installed these about a month ago, but haven't been driving much since I got laid off. They are much, MUCH smoother than the 40 year old worn out springs that were on it. I relize mow how I bottomed out every bump I hit before. These, in addition to the new cheap monroes, ride great. The only time I notice that the spring rate ramps up is when I'm in a hurry over a speed bump.
PS: You don't even need a spring compressor for this job. But I was still scared for my life, and truck.
