Hi guys,
I have been here since mid-july 2007. Everytime I have had a problem all I have had to do was search for an answer. Awsome place by the way.
Well now I have a problem that is giving my dad and I a headache.
We recently rebuilt the 351 out of the ford that I bought. Right off the bat it got about 6 mpg's. It kept on bringing up the CE light so we ran the KOER test. Came up with a few codes and so far we have been able to eliminate them all but one
Code 173 - EGO NOT SWITCHING / RUNNING RICH
We have put on a new o2 sensor just last month. I am basically looking for idea's to try. I figured I would turn to you guys and try to help solve our headache. I am currently using a Snap-On SOLUS to scan the truck.
I also get a Transmission Temperature Sender code but it does not come on very often. Along with a kind of goofy oil pressure gage once and a while.
Any ground wire's I can check anywhere. Connections to really watch. Any help is greatly appreciated and any other information you guys may need I can deliver to you.
Thanks alot. It is greatly appreciated.
Mike
Essentially it's constantly running rich. Is the O2 sensor changing its voltage at all? Check your fuel pressure and make sure your regulator hasn't gone bad. That's where I'd start.

The o2 sensor works fine. As for fuel pressure we are going to check that tommorow sometime.
