Looking for brand recommendations for my '94 F150's E4OD trans. My truck now has 84K and is heading for it's first ATF change. I doubt it's ever been changed.
It was, but since Mercon is no longer made, Mercon V is now backwards compatible to work on transmissions that used regular Mercon. As for brands, I prefer Valvoline, but that's me.
Hm. I didn't know there was an old and a new Merc5. That's good to know.
So how about conventional vs. say, Mobil1? I've used M1 in my Mustang's T5, but that didn't take 20 qts. to fill. I don't know if I can justify a synthetic ATF for this truck. I do want to use a quality fluid though. I've used Valvoline myself in other transfer cases, but never changed ATF in an automatic. Thanks guys.
