Anyone happen to know where one could buy paint for the needles of gauges? I thought of looking into the model type of paint since it is plastic. Has anyone ever tried to paint thiers? Mines all apart right now and thought it would be a good time to paint the faded ones (all of them).

 

I painted the gauge hands etc on my 65 Mustang with that Orange paint that they use to locate utilities on the street. The type where the can sprays upside down. I had some on hand and tested it and seemed a perfect match. Still look good 8 yrs later.
edit; I sprayed some in a shallow container, then applied with small brush.

 

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. I know I can get it at the local hardware here in town.

 

Tried out the marking paint on the gauge needles and it worked great. I think it looks better than it did originally.

 

I thought it looked better than original also. At least just as good.
