Does anyone sell the bright orange paint necessary to restore the appearance of the indicator needles on speedometer and other gauges in a '66 Ford F-100?
It's not really supposed to be orange, more of a fluorescent red. Testors makes it for hobby use (I actually couldn't find it in a bottle anywhere else!). Check your local hobby shops (trains, RC cars). It's part # FS28915.
Are you doing a round dash or a sweep speedo? I can school you on how to do the sweep unit, BTDT.
Apply the paint lightly, may take more than one coat. Too much paint will add weight to the needles and could make them read wrong.
Thanks! I actually found that Krylon makes little bottles called Short-Cuts. Their Glow Orange color (Part # SCB-022) is a dead on match. Thanks for the tip on using a light coat. Work is on sweep speedo from custom cab.
