A definite must is lots of power! best way to achieve that? Sticker charge it! (add lots of power stickers, NOS, edelbrock, K&N, accel, the list goes on) but the point is you don't actually waste your money on the actual parts, just the stickers, they're cheap.
Also never use graded bolts, the bolts have to be the weak points! always remember that!

We forgot spinners! but people will assume you are the ultimate mall driver, so be sure your skills are up to par. for example, you must be able to do a one wheel peel out of the mall parking lot.
Speaking of spinners. There is a guy around the house that has a Z71. Lift 38" swampers on 20" spinner wheels. I laugh my **** off everytime I see that truck.
