Anybody know where this little gizmo might be? I've got no backup lights and want to start digging around to fix it.

Good question. My first guess would be the transmission (lol) but never saw anything on mine. Must be on top. Forget goggle very littel ifo on these. Other transmissions you will find diagrams part numbers and every thing. Sorry I could not help but if you ever find any good sources of info please send it my way.

Wink

Yep, it's on top of the transmission. Backing lights didn't work when I bought my truck. My mechanic replaced the switch/plug when he was doing the safety on it.

Found it in the service manual. The switch is on the driver's side of the tranny, just a few inches from the shifter. If you need a picture, let me know and I'll scan the manual.

cool that's just the info I needed. yeah the bulbs are good and no bad fuses that I can tell. I think I remember looking up that circuit and ohming out the fuse. Probably could just clip the wires and put a switch in the cab. I could see a couple bonuses to this
-like working behind the truck or some little ricerocket following too close;-) some real good and bright halogens tapped in would prolly get him to change lanes perty quick THEN flip the 10k switch and smoke him fer being a dolt

........NAH we got enough road rage problems out here

yeah.........sure
